The most complete option to enjoy the Fuegian snow! We leave from the hotel towards Tierra Mayor Valley; the adventure begins when we go on the vehicle, specially equipped with caterpillar tracks, to cross the great snowy plain. The tour goes from the valley to the forest, ending up at Refugio del Hachero, where we´ll have time to take pictures in a dream landscape. After the instructions given by our guide, we put on snowshoes and go towards Refugio Nunatak, where we´ll have lunch in a heated dome and have some free time to enjoy the sleds. After lunch, we will have the experience of huskie dogsledding and guided tour driving snow bikes. This tour could be with or without sleds. Snow bikes are for 2 persons.

We leave from the hotel towards Tierra Mayor Valley. Our Musher instructor will welcome us and give us an introductory chat about the dogsledding world, while we visit the kennels. Then we´ll receive the instructions about sled assembly and driving techniques. We´ll put the harnesses on the dogs, we hitch them to the sled and off we go! This intense adventure is great fun! As we go, our sled caravan heads into the snowy valley until we arrive at Refugio del Hachero, where we´ll recover energy with some hot beverages. After a short rest, mushers and dogs continue the journey through forests, frozen rivers and experiencing the magic white silence. Maximum 8 pax and 4 sleds. Passengers must be in good health, must like dogs and have a team spirit. Dogsledding is comparable to cross country skiing, so reasonable fitness is required.

We leave from the hotel towards Tierra Mayor Valley. The guide will explain the order of the activities and we´ll start the journey crossing the valley in the middle of the winter´s night, a torchlight trail will lead us through the forest to the hut, where the cook waits for us with brochettes and stew, hot wine, a selection of wines and the specialty “loggers‘coffee”. Dinner is enlivened with some guitar playing. The return journey is with husky dogsledding and snow bike.

This half-day tour is an invitation to enjoy winter in the Tierra del Fuego Glacier Valleys, forests and snow-covered mountains in a direct and pleasant contact with Nature. Early departure from hotels and short 20 Km drive to the Natural Reserve in Tierra Mayor Valley, alongside the Alvear Mount, where winter snow creates alluring sights. We leave from the hotel towards Tierra Mayor Valley. In this great snowy valley, we start the huskie dogsledding expedition; after crossing the valley, we get into the ancient beech forest following an old lumberjack trail until we reach the Refugio del Hachero (small log hut heated by wood). We say goodbye to the Huskies and our guide will help us to put on the snowshoes (without them we wouldn´t be able to walk, since the snow is about one meter deep). Our aim is to reach Alvear Ice waterfall and the lookout over the valley. The way down to the hut is fast and great fun, and once upon arrival we´ll recover energy with a delicious hot chocolate. From the hut, we return to Tierra Mayor Valley walking with snowshoes.

We leave the city through National Road No 3 until we reach the starting point where we get ready to continue on foot. We will walk around 2 hours from the leaving point until we reach the lagoon, going throu the sub antarctic woods, the peat valleys covered with snow, frozen rivers with beavers dams. Once we get to the lagoon, covered with snow, we will discover that its surroundings make the place a specially charming one. There we will stop to regain strength with a lunch box and a hot drink, before starting our way back along the lane which led us there.
